Why miss out on this delectable dish just because you are not a fan of meat products. We have tried and tested many variations and have finally come to the winning result.
Background
As we have been serving the Beef Cottage Pie on CanD’s Kitchen‘s Harvest Table for many years, we decided a vegetarian option is definitely needed for the Tummy Love range.
How we make it…
We use brown lentils in our Vegetarian Cottage Pie. It is cooked in our uniquely self-made vegetable stock. Then fried finely diced onions and garlic and deliciously sweet carrots are added to the cooked lentils. Thereafter we add a yeast extract to mimic a more meaty taste. The Cottage pie is then spiced with ground Nutmeg, Cloves, Garlic & Herb, Mixed Herbs, White Pepper and Salt. The lentil mix is finished off with peas. Each dish is perfectly weighed and topped with our delectably fluffy mash potatoes. Our mash potatoes are made to with a bit of butter, Garlic infused Olive Oil, Nutmeg, White Pepper, and Salt. Finally we sprinkle a bit of grated Cheddar on the mashed potatoes.
Serving Suggestion
Serve the Lentil Cottage Pie with a traditional Beetroot Salad or even a crisp Green Salad to cover all those nutritional needs.
